There is a lot involved when it comes to air conditioning installation, whether it is a new construction installation or as a replacement system. It is understandable to have questions about how to choose the right system as well as the right installation company. Here are a few tips that can help you navigate through what could seem more complex than it really is.

Air Conditioning Installation

  • Tip #1 – Get the Right Size: By size, we’re not talking about what will fit in the allocated space, although that is important too. What you need to consider is that air conditioning installation isn’t like other things where you get the biggest or smallest you can fit into your budget. If you go too big, it won’t be energy efficient. If you go too small, it will work harder and will wear out quickly and not give you the comfort you desire. Both are actually inefficient, but the good news is your air conditioning installation expert can recommend the right size for the square footage and layout of your building.
  • Tip #2 – Get the Highest SEER Rating You Can Afford: Here is where you want the best because even though all products on the market today are exceptionally more efficient than those sold just a few years ago, there are different SEER ratings available to choose from. In fact, if your system is more than 10 years old, you could save 20 to 40 percent on your cooling energy costs, making an upgrade a wise investment.
  • Tip #3 – Go with a Full-Service Contractor: You want your air conditioning installation handled by a company with experience not only with putting them in, but also servicing them. You’ll need preventative maintenance to keep it performing efficiently, and having someone do that who is familiar with the equipment they installed is a definite plus.
